Easter Basket Ideas!

It's hard to believe that we will be celebrating Easter this week! It feels so early this year!! Especially since just a few days ago we had 3 feet of snow on the ground!! This will be Sophia's first Easter, so like everything else, I want to make it special. I looked around for the 'perfect' Easter basket for her and I ended up finding one that I really liked at Target. I have plans to get her name embroidered on it...but that didn't happen for this year. I had to put a lot of thought into what I wanted to put in her Easter basket this year, because obviously chocolate and candy were not going to work. And we definitely DO NOT need more random toys and 'stuff' around our house. So I went the VERY practical route and got her things that she 'needs'...or that I would have been buying her for Spring anyway!

Hopefully this helps anyone who may need some
Easter basket ideas for a baby close to them!

In Sophia's Easter Basket:
1. Sand pail and shovel (Dollarama)
2. Easter book (Superstore)
3. Wooden Puzzle (Dollarama)
4. Pajama's (Costco)
5. Stuffie (Walmart)
6. Ducky bath toy (Walmart)
7. Annie's Bunny Pasta with Cheese (Walmart)
8. Bathing Suit (Superstore)
9. Bubbles (Walmart)
10. Sun hat (Superstore)
11. Fuzzy socks (Walmart)
12. Boogie Wipes (Walmart)
13. Crocs (Costco)
14. Plastic Eggs (Dollarama)

Since Sophia is only 10 months old, there will be no 'Easter Egg Hunt' at our house this year! However I have decided to still fill a few eggs with 'treats' for her to just play around with and 'snack' on for fun.

This is what will be in Sophia's Easter Eggs this year...

Sophia's very first Easter basket is all filled and ready to go!!

Happy Easter!!

Friday Favourites!

Yahoo it's FRIDAY!
I'm linking up this week with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favourites! If you have a blog, you should link up with your favourites from the week too!

A few of my favourite things from this week...

The weather!!
It's been sunny and warm and I am LOVING it!! I know we are probably not out of the woods just yet with Winter...but I will enjoy this weather! Until it starts to SNOW again...

Warm weather means time to bring out the glitter Toms! Love those cute baby feet!!

Flowers for NO reason!!
Damian surprised me with a beautiful, HUGE bouquet! I am a lucky girl!!
PI DAY!!
I love celebrating PI Day for two reasons...
1. I LOVE PIE!!!
2. I love Math and always have! My Dad was a high school math teacher for 25 years and celebrating Pi Day has been 'our thing' for as long as I can remember!!

Festive St.Patrick's Day outfits
 for Miss Sophia!!

Dry Shampoo!!
Holy this stuff is AMAZING!! My wonderful friend Rachelle introduced it to me while she was cutting my hair a few weeks ago and it is my new 'go to' product!! I clearly don't have time to wash my hair everyday since having Sophia, so this stuff works WONDERS with making my unwashed hair look presentable again!!

St. Patrick's Day!
YES...I am one of those people who celebrate EVERYTHING! I believe in making memories out of everything because that is the way I grew up. Some people think I am crazy...and that is fine!!
Soooo...We hosted a little St.Patrick's Day dinner with some friends this week! And we had breakfast for dinner. GREEN pancakes to be exact! And it was AWESOME!!

GREEN PANCAKES AND RAINBOW FRUIT!

Hockey Wives!!
This show just started this week and I LOVE it already!! It combines my two loves...reality TV and hockey! How could you go wrong?! It was actually quite an interesting show and gives you a pretty accurate 'behind the scenes' look at the life these ladies and their families live! I was also interested because it features a player that is in a similar situation as my brother, being sent down to the farm team and trying to make a name for himself to get sent back up to the NHL! And I should also mention, it features Jenny Scrivens, the wife of our Edmonton Oilers goalie, Ben Scrivens! So hopefully we will be seeing some local Edmonton footage on the show!!

KISSES!!
I LOVE this little girl!!
And I LOVE that she enjoys giving herself kisses on her reflection all of the time!! ha ha!

March Madness!
So I may know NOTHING about college basketball...but I filled out a march madness bracket and entered in my husbands competitions!! Ha ha! This should be interesting...

Play Dates!!
Sophia is at a really FUN age right now where she is just starting to interact with other babies/kids! We had TWO wonderful play dates this week! I am also SO lucky to have such an AMAZING Moms Group that we are a part of!

Thanks for stopping by!
 Have a great weekend!!

Welcome Charlotte!!

A few weeks ago I hosted a baby shower for one of my besties and her beautiful little girl. Bailey is OBSESSED with anything and everything Disney!! So when she gave birth to a little girl, it was only fitting that it be a Minnie Mouse themed party. I LOVED this theme and had SO much fun putting everything together!!

I used my Silhouette to create the 'It's a Girl' banner!

I also purchased the Minnie Mouse place mat from the Disney Store and then used my Silhouette to cut out  the letters for Charlotte's name!

The guests of Honor! Bailey and Charlotte!

Baby Charlotte!

The food table!

I found the Minnie Mouse bucket in the Easter section at Walmart!
So I just took it to a local flower shop and they created an arrangement in it for me!

Dreams DO come true!

These cupcakes were SO easy to make and turned out really cute!!

I decided I wanted to try making royal icing cookies for the favours for the shower! I was EXTREMELY grateful for my friend Jenn's help with this project because it was definitely a labour of love!! But we both thought they turned out great! And bonus...they tasted good too!! ha!

Minnie Cookies!!

When you think of Minnie Mouse, you think of her fancy BOW! So I thought it would be fun to set up a 'Bow-tique' for guests to decorate or create a special bow for Charlotte!

Some people chose to decorate the 'pre-made' bows that I bought, and others created their own bows from scratch! They all turned out very cute!!

 Bow making!!

Me and Bailey!

We had a wonderful afternoon of eating yummy treats, visiting, and getting LOTS of baby cuddles! There were THREE newborn babies at the party! And Sophia...ha ha!

One of Bailey's friends had her little boy on the same day she had Charlotte!!
They were born just down the hall from each other!

Aunty Jenn and Aunty Robyn were cuddling Hudson! He was only 10 days old!!

Not sure what this look was all about?! ha ha!!

Game time!!

Miss Charlotte got alot of attention when she spit up! ha ha!!

And Miss Sophia enjoyed her party snacks!

Charlotte with her Mommy, Nana, and Grandma!

My mini assistant 'helping' me with one of the games!

This girl LOVES tissue paper!!

GIFT TIME!!

Lots of baby snuggling was going on!!

She was pretty excited about all of her SWEET presents!!

Then Mama fed her and she was KNOCKED OUT!! ha ha!

Milk drunk at its finest!!

It was a GREAT afternoon spent celebrating
the birth of a very special little girl!
Welcome to the world Charlotte Lillian!!
