Maternity Pictures!

At the beginning of April we had some maternity pictures taken!
We worked with the wonderful Ashlee, who owns Love & Laugh Photography and she was AMAZING to work with! Our session was on a Saturday morning, and of course that morning we woke up to SNOW! However, we didn't let that stop us and we ended up REALLY happy with how our pictures turned out! I am SO glad we will have these pictures to look back on one day, as well as to show miss peanut what I looked liked when she was in my tummy!

So here they are...

And now we are officially ready to meet our little girl!
Everything is ready for her! And we are as 'ready' as we can possibly be!! Ha!
I am due NEXT WEEK!!  So it's just a waiting game now...

Dessert Pizza

I LOVE pizza.
And I LOVE dessert.
So this little recipe brings two of my favourite things together!!
And it was a real hit with my family when I made it for our Sunday dinner dessert last week!
The best part...It's SUPER easy to make, and doesn't require too many ingredients. Perfection!

Dessert Pizza
What you need:
1 boxed brownie mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup oil
12 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 banana
1 1/2 cups diced strawberries
1 cup blueberries

Preheat oven to 350'
Grease a 12 inch pizza pan (with a rim) with Pam.
Prepare brownie mix, according to box directions.
Pour brownie mix into prepared pizza pan.
Bake for 22-25 minutes. Let cool completely.
In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and icing sugar.
Spread evenly over the top of the cooled brownie 'crust'.
Slice bananas and place evenly on the crust.
Sprinkle with diced strawberries and blueberries.
Refrigerate until ready to eat.
ENJOY!!
*To keep bananas from 'browning' you can sprinkle the
banana slices with some lemon juice before placing on the crust!*

ENJOY!

Spring!

Spring is FINALLY here!!
After many 'false starts' I think we have finally gotten rid of the snow and cold and can start looking forward to some SUN and warm weather!! I always find the transition to Spring a little...frustrating!! We always seem to get a week of beautiful warm weather and  most of the snow melts.... and then BAM the following week we get a foot of snow and its FREEEEZING! Sssssigh...you think I would be used to this by now, living in Alberta my entire life...but I am not. And every year I am so hopeful! Ha!

So one snowy SPRING day at the end of March I decided to at least decorate the inside of our house for Spring!
Even tho it was actually snowing outside... ha ha!

My obsession with chalk art continues...I'm getting better!!

Nothing says SPRING like beautiful tulips!

I wrapped my Bath and Body Works candle in some burlap and
tied it with a ribbon to make it more 'Springy'!

More Spring flowers!

I went with a very basic centre piece for our table! With a little bit of chalk art of course!

And I'm sure you have all seen this super cheap and simple idea on Pinterest, but I thought I would remind you! All I did was buy some cheap candle stick holders and larger glass containers from the dollar store...and hot glue them together!! And then BAM...You have instant apothecary jars!!
So simple and it literally took me 3 minutes!
I'm now on the hunt for some larger containers to make more!

HAPPY SPRING!!

Our Vancouver Babymoon!

When we were planning our trip to Bailey and Matt's wedding in Powell River, we knew that I would be 8.5 months pregnant, thus making it our last official trip just the two of us! So with that, we decided to extended our trip by a few days and headed to Vancouver for a 3 day 'babymoon'! And I am SO glad we did!! We had a wonderful time just enjoying each others company, going to the spa, enjoying our fantastic hotel, indulging is LOTS of yummy food and taking in the beautiful sights of Vancouver!

We left Powell River on Sunday afternoon. It was only a 25 minute flight from Powell River to Vancouver, and we took a very teeny tiny plane! We had a beautiful view the entire way!

We arrived in Vancouver and headed to our hotel to check in. We stayed at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in downtown Vancouver. It is a relatively new hotel, as it was built for the 2010 winter Olympics!
It is BEAUTIFUL!!

Because it was our 'babymoon' we decided to splurge and stay on the 'Gold Floor' of the hotel...meaning we had an incredible view and lots of extra services and amenities! It was wonderful!!

Our room!

The incredible view from the bathroom!
And I have to mention that that jacuzzi tub is honestly every pregnant girls DREAM!! I definitely made good use of that tub during our trip!! Ha!

The view from the other side of our room!

After we settled into our room we headed down to check out the rest of the hotel. The hotel has an amazing bakery in it and we ate there a few times during the trip!

On the first day I enjoyed this delicious 4 cheese pizza! YUM!

There was also this amazing candy bar that I was in love with! Ha!
Everyone knows I have a major weakness for candy!!

We did a little bit of walking around outside our hotel and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Oru, the main restaurant in the hotel!

My handsome hubby enjoying his wine before dinner!

My yummy chicken!

Monday morning we headed to Granville Island.
It was a beautiful day, and perfect for lots of walking around!

First up we headed to the Public Market. This is where I wanted to BUY and EAT everything in sight! Ha!

I LOVED seeing all of the fresh, beautiful flowers!!

And look at the SIZE of those berries!! I wanted to eat them ALL!

Making our way around Granville Island!

Damian enjoying his morning coffee!

Me...looking fffairly preggo!

Beautiful view!

Happy Babymoon to us!

So many boats!

I needed to take a lil rest from all of that walkin!

In the afternoon we stopped in at the Granville Island Brewing Company so Damian could enjoy some beer!

It was a pretty neat place to see! And I enjoyed a nice glass of Cola!

Lunch! Back in the Public Market!

After leaving Granville Island we headed to Wings + horns, which is one of Damian's favourite clothing brands. He was VERY excited to check the actual store out, as this is their ONLY store front that they have...in the world! Needless to say...he did a little shopping!!

We found some lovely blossoms when we were walking around Gastown!
It was such a nice change of scenery from all of the SNOW at home!!

That evening we had a great dinner at a local pub and then went for a walk along the Sea Wall!

It was so peaceful walking along the water!

We liked looking at all of the SUPER fancy Yachts!
I could not believe how HUGE some of them were!!

After our walk we headed to the Lobby Bar in the hotel. Every night they have live music, so we sat and enjoyed the music and had a few drinks! Mine were non alcoholic of course!!

Lounging!

Headin on up to our room for the night! We haven't quite perfected the 'elevator selfie' just yet...lol

BUT...before we headed to our room, we stopped in at the Gold Floor Lounge for a lil snack! And they were serving BACON POPCORN!! Pretty much two of my favourite things...ha ha! It was heavenly!

Tuesday was our SPA morning!
We headed to the hotel spa a little bit early, so we could enjoy some of the spa amenities! Damian enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs! I REALLY miss being able to go into hot tubs!!
But I didn't want to 'cook' poor peanut! ha!

I just sat and enjoyed my morning tea and some light reading!
Then we had our AMAZING massages!! It was SUCH a treat!!

After our spa morning we headed to Stanley Park to walk around and explore.
It was beautiful!! I just loved the HUGE trees everywhere!

Little me...and a not so little tree!

Stopped for a little rest on a park bench!

After we spent a few hours at Stanley Park, we stopped in at the bakery in our hotel for a little treat!
I had the peanut butter hedge hog and Damian had the lemon meringue tart and a fancy latte!
SOOOOO YUMMY!!

That evening we went to a waterfront restaurant called Lift.
We had an incredible meal, and an even better view!

We loved being right on the water!

There was a rowing team practicing right in front of us!

Wednesday morning we had a few hours to kill before we had to head to the airport to come home.
We walked around Canada Place for a bit and did some last minute sight seeing in downtown Vancouver!

Damian and a giant whale!

The Olympic Torch! It was right across the street from our hotel.

Flowers!

Some fancy car! ha!

Saying goodbye to this beautiful view was NOT easy!!

And that was our Babymoon!!
We had such a wonderful trip 'just the two of us', for the last time...for a long time! But as enjoyable as it was, we are SO ready to start experiencing 'family' trips with our growing little family!!
And so let the next chapter of our lives begin...
