Today we celebrated our first wedding anniversary! We exchanged anniversary cards, reminisced about what we were doing at this time last year, and then got ready to set out on day 2 in the Big Apple!
We headed out on the Subway for the first time today! We bought Metro cards because we knew we would be using the Subway to get around ALOT for the week!
First time on the Subway! It felt like a sauna down there!!!
We headed to an area called Fulton Street and stopped at a bagel shop for some breakfast.
After breakfast we headed to the new World Trade Centers and the 9/11 Memorial site!
What an incredible thing to see! The new buildings are still being constructed and they are beautiful buildings. The memorial pools were also unreal to see. They were huge! The names of all of the individuals lost on that horrible day were written all the way around the outside of both memorial pools. It was a really touching memorial site, and I am really glad we got to go and see it.
After the 9/11 memorial we headed out for some more exploring!
Trinity Church
Next, we walked to the Piers to check out the Statue of Liberty! It was pretty cool to be that close to the Statue of Liberty! You can take a cruise right out to it, but we chose to just admire it from afar!

There were stone wall memorials for USA Navy members along the pier.
Then we headed further into the Financial District to go check out the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street. This was a SUPER busy area with LOTS of security everywhere!!
We continued to do some more 'wandering' around the Financial District, taking in the sights and doing a little bit of shopping! There is just SO MUCH to see in this city! The buildings are so old and beautiful!!

This is one of Damian's FAVOURITE brands and you cannot get it in Canada! And they only have stores in New York!! He was SUPER stoked to finally be able to shop in the actual store!! And even better...one of the owners/designers was actually there that day and helped us get some things we were looking for! It was pretty cool!
And then we stumbled across this AMAZING store and my 'inner teacher nerdiness' was in full force!! Ha!!!
After an exciting day exploring the Financial District we headed back to the hotel to rest and get ready to head out for the evening! Damian made reservations for our anniversary dinner at a place called Gramery Tavern. It was an amazing restaurant and the food was out.of.this.world!!!

They gave us a special dessert and champagne to celebrate our anniversary!
After dinner we headed to Greenwich Village to go to the famous Comedy Cellar. We are both really into comedy shows, and Damian had heard that this was the best place to go! This club is also known for having lots of famous comedians stop by to do a 'set' so we were hoping we would be lucky and get to see some great people!!
As we were waiting in the line up to get in I turned around and standing next to me was TRACY MORGAN! It was CRAZY!! He was talking to another guy and then started talking about Damian in his 'clean' suit!! So we asked for a picture and he said SURE! It was unreal!!

Tracy Morgan ended up doing a set in the show, and then this guy showed up as well...

It was like a 30 Rock reunion! And man oh man was it an AMAZING show!!
We weren't allowed to take any pictures inside the venue so this one is just from online, however its odd because this is EXACTLY what he was wearing that night! Ha!! Big hat and super weird glasses!!
And then at the end of the show I snuck a picture of the inside sign ha ha...bad girl I am!!
I was super sneaky tho!! Ha!
And that was our Day 2 in NYC!
Another AMAZING day and a GREAT way to spend our first anniversary!!!
